Team/Eligibility

Teams registering for TIC Americas must be citizens or legal residents of the OAS member countries and/or the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and its Associate Member States, and must be legally authorized to start and operate a business in their country.

Teams registering for the Eco-Challenge category within TIC Americas must be citizens or legal residents of a Latin American or Caribbean State who are members of the OAS or of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and its Associate Members.

All team members (excluding mentors) must be between 18 and 34 years of age by 11:59 pm, April 2, 2023. Proof of age will be required for Finalists.  Teams that do not fulfill the requirements will be disqualified.

Since much of the competition and communication is done through the Internet, access to the Internet during the competition is recommended to ensure full participation.

Multinational teams may compete. Multinational teams are the ones that consist of more than one nationality eligible in the competition. The team will be registered with the country of nationality or country of permanent residence of the CEO or Startup.

TIC Americas teams may be comprised of a minimum of one and a maximum of ten members, which must include the following roles, in the case of more than one member:

  • Chief Executive Officer.

  • Chief Financial Officer.

  • Chief Technical Officer.

 Notes:

If the team consists of only one member, he/she must be the CEO.

YABT Staff, National Chapters, Officials, Board of Directors, PepsiCo Staff, and sponsors, as well as their immediate family members, are not eligible to participate.
