About TIC Americas

The Talent and Innovation Competitions of the Americas (TIC Americas) is a hemispheric program developed by the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), with the support of the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) and in cooperation with national, regional, and hemispheric public and private organizations. TIC Americas has become a leading platform for entrepreneurial support and promotion in the Western Hemisphere, accelerating innovative and scalable business proposals that address the challenges and needs of the hemisphere.

– TIC Americas is implemented annually and features different ‘challenges’ that support various objectives and priorities in the region.

– Each year, young individuals with the best and most innovative business solutions are identified, trained, and provided visibility to achieve sustainable and inclusive development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

– Through TIC Americas, these young individuals not only receive practical tools to implement their proposals but also become part of a support and acceleration process that includes mentoring, training, access to financial and technical resources, as well as opportunities for growth, investment, and expansion.

How is TIC Americas different?

The program offers a series of benefits and opportunities to the growing community of young entrepreneurs in the hemisphere, including:

– International visibility
– Training and access to useful tools
– International mentors
– Access to private investors
– Follow-up services and activities
– The Finals have taken place within the framework of the OAS General Assembly and the Summit of the Americas.

How does it work?

TIC Americas is developed in three parts:

1. Call for Proposals and Capacity Development
Once the team is registered in one of the ongoing competitions, they will begin to receive benefits and maintain communication with the YABT team to ensure their successful participation in the program. Registered teams will be invited to join training sessions through the YABT BOOTCamp, aiming to access high-value content delivered by professionals from various disciplines and sectors, assisting them in the process of formulating and improving their projects.

2. Semifinals
Teams that submit their deliverables/requirements on time will be evaluated by the Semifinals’ Jury Committee, according to the Evaluation Criteria specific to the competition in which they are registered. Evaluated projects will receive the Jury Committee Feedback Report as part of the benefits of their participation and for the improvement of their strategy and business model.

3. Finals
The Finals will take place in a virtual format through a technological platform provided by YABT. Finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their products and services through the Finals Portal. Each Finalist will have their own Landing Page, displaying relevant content about their ventures to all program audiences.
