this saves money and can make the air cleaner, which in turn can make people and the planet healthier.\u00a0 Examples could include solutions for:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reducing or reclaiming food waste,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">switching to biogas for cooking,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">installing insulation or LED lighting,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">building green and cool roofs,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">capturing and digesting methane,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">managing refrigerants or methane leaks, and\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">building bicycle infrastructure, to name a few.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Category 2<\/strong>: Protecting and managing natural resources.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re looking for business ideas and initiatives to promote sustainable livelihoods and food security <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">while maintaining healthy oceans, soil, and forests.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These types of initiatives uplift natures\u2019 absorption cycle. Our natural environment has a tremendous<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">capacity to absorb emissions. The ocean, soil and forests are the largest natural sinks on the planet.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Examples could include solutions for:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">protecting and restoring coasts, wetlands, or forests,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">farming seaweed,<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">enhancing soil fertility naturally,<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">improving fisheries,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">producing biochar,<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">promoting agroforestry and regenerative agriculture,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">encouraging diets rich in fruits, grains, and vegetables, and<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ensuring Indigenous peoples\u00b4 forest tenure, among many others.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Sectors<\/strong>: Solutions can be found in key sectors such as food production and agriculture, land use, ocean and coastline restoration, and forest conservation, electricity, industry, transportation, building construction, among others.
