Lira is an innovative application designed to facilitate communication between hearing individuals and people with hearing disabilities through real-time translation between Spanish and Salvadoran Sign Language (LESSA). Using artificial intelligence and a 3D avatar, Lira automatically interprets spoken Spanish into signs and vice versa, promoting fluid, accessible, and inclusive interaction.
The app aims to eliminate communication barriers faced daily by people with hearing disabilities by providing technological tools that respect their linguistic identity and encourage full participation in all areas of society. Its design includes accessibility options and a simple interface, intended to be useful both for deaf users and hearing individuals unfamiliar with sign language.
It is designed for diverse contexts such as family, education, work, or public services, where interpreters are often unavailable.
