Teams registering to the Start-up Challenge must be citizens or legal residents of an OAS Member State.
Teams registering for the Eco-challenge category must be citizens or legal residents of the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.
All Team members (excluding mentors) must be between 18 and 34 years of age on 5:00 PM, January 15, 2018. Proof of age will be required for finalists.
Eco Challenge participants must be citizens of one of the OAS member States. The transportation scholarship granted to finalists is from the OAS member State country of which the grant holder is a citizen.
When the team registers the project, idea or proposal, it also certifies that it has intellectual rights over the product and the rights to apply.
Since much of the competition and communication is through the internet, access to the internet during the competition is mandatory to ensure full participation.
Multinational teams may compete. Multinational teams are teams that have members from more than country. A team with multinational members will be considered to be from the country where the start-up operations take place.
TIC Americas Teams may be comprised of a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of ten (10) members with the following titles:
Chief Executive Officer
Chief Financial Officer
Chief Technical Officer
If the team consists of only one member, this must be the CEO,
YABT Staff, National Chapters, Officials, Board of Directors, PepsiCo, cbc, and Postobón S.A. Staff, and sponsors, as well as their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
