Judges are selected based on the following criteria:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Professional experience in sectors such as microenterprise development and\/or business, bioplastics, environmental sustainability, technological innovation, community organizing, academia, chambers of commerce, and technical areas related to sustainable development.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bilingual or multilingual in English and\/or Spanish.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Past performance judging a TIC Americas competition, when applicable.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following individuals are ineligible to participate as Judges:\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YABT staff, Board members, and national chapters.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TIC Americas mentors.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organization of American States\u2019 General Secretariat personnel.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Immediate family or household members of anyone mentioned above.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Judges shall sign a confidentiality agreement, disclose all potential conflicts of interest, and agree to abide by Bio Plastics Challenge\u2019s Rules, Terms and Conditions in order to participate. Judges will agree to score teams fully and impartially based on the technical quality and presentation of the Competition Materials and the team\u2019s performance during Bio Plastics Challenge and without regard to gender, nationality, age, education, race, sexual orientation, or other discriminatory factors. Judges participate on a voluntary basis and will not be paid by Teams, YABT, Sponsors, TIC Americas, the Bio Plastics Challenge, or any partners.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YABT will provide training and oversight to Judges to ensure consistent, appropriate application of the Evaluation Criteria (see Evaluation Criteria) and the selection process.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Judges evaluate Competition Materials, score Teams, and select the winners of the Bio Plastics Challenge.
